This Privacy and Security Policy (this “Privacy Policy”) explains how Le Creuset and each of its operating subsidiaries and affiliates collects, protects, uses and discloses the Personal Information (defined below) that Le Creuset gathers when you use our website located at www.lecreuset.co.za or any other website provided by Le Creuset or one of its operating subsidiaries or processing partners (collectively called “the sites”).
Le Creuset and its processing partners have put in place security protocols and technologies to secure the information you provide during your visit to the Sites or when completing your business transaction. However, no information transmitted via the Internet is guaranteed to be 100% secure. Thus, while Le Creuset and its processing partners work to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our websites, and you do so at your own risk.
PRIVACY POLICY
Personal Information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a user ID and password, a first and last name, shipping and billing addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers or other contact information that is gathered by Le Creuset as described below. Personal information is not the same as aggregate information, which is information presented in summary or statistical form which does not contain data that would permit the identification of a specific individual without extraordinary effort.
Le Creuset respects your privacy and recognises your need for appropriate protection and management of the Personal Information you provide during your visit to the Sites. We promise to respect your privacy and protect your personal data. We will always be open about how and why we use your data. We promise to respect your privacy. Your authorised personal details, where neccesary are held securely and in strict confidence in accordance with the Protection Of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
We know that security is very important when buying online, so we use the latest technology to ensure that all your personal information is fully protected and remains completely confidential. We do not keep your credit card details. Le Creuset’s Use of Cookies and Internet Monitoring Technologies

1. WHEN AND WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
“Personal data” means any information relating to you that allows us to identify you, either directly or in combination with other information. Children: This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children. We may collect personal data from you when you use our website and external online sites such as our social media profile (the “Website”), register a Le Creuset account, buy a Le Creuset product on the Website, or subscribe to our marketing communications. The personal data may concern:
- name, surname, date of birth, and other contact details (address, telephone number, and e-mail address), to register a Le Creuset account or purchase as a guest user, or subscribe to our marketing communication
- your purchase data, for example, date and time of purchase, delivery data, product and payment data and details, for managing your orders.

Le Creuset uses Personal Information to fulfill orders placed by customers, to respond to the requests of users of the Sites, and to enrich the usefulness of the Sites. Your contact information will also be used should LeCreuset.com personnel need to contact you via phone, e-mail or postal mail regarding your order. This does not constitute a solicitation. We may also use this data to send you information about products, sales and promotions that may be of interest to you.
2. WHO IS COLLECTING YOUR INFORMATION?

3. WHY DO WE COLLECT THIS INFORMATION?
We may process your data for the following purposes:
- FOR OUR LEGAL OBLIGATIONS We may have to process some data about you to fulfil our legal obligations and other obligations arising from instructions received from authorities.
- TO CREATE A LE CREUSET ACCOUNT We will use your data to create a Le Creuset account which will give you access to a series of advantages dedicated to registered users, to better enjoy our services, such as faster checkout, save multiple shipping addresses, view and track orders, receive special coupons and discounts. Any processing activity is required to enable us to provide these services to you as a Le Creuset account holder.
- TO MANAGE YOUR ORDERS AND PROVIDE OUR PRODUCTS, SERVICES, AND ASSISTANCE TO YOU We will use your data to manage our contractual relationship with you, your purchase of products on the Website, your use of the Website, any subsequent after-sales assistance, or your participation in our contests. We may have to process some data about you for our administrative purposes connected to our contractual relationship with you such as accounting, billing and audit, payment card verification, fraud screening, safety, security, systems testing, maintenance, and statistical analysis. Occasionally we may need to contact you for administrative or operational reasons. For instance, to send you confirmation of your purchase. We will also use your personal data to reply to your requests sent through our Website forms or other channels. This processing activity is required to enable us to provide our services to you. - RE-TARGETING / TAILOR OUR OFFERS AND IMPROVE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE We would like to use your data to tailor our services and offers to your needs and preferences to provide you with a personalized Le Creuset customer experience. We will do this by analysing your habits or interests, for example, in relation to the most viewed products, your interaction with us on social media, which pages of our Website you visit, and which content of our offers you read. - WHATSAPP FOR BUSINESS. WhatsApp for Business with customers who request so, in order to provide support and send information about our products. This channel is not aimed to perform the sale of our products. 4. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS PROTECTED?
Security - We place great importance on the security of the data of our users. Le Creuset will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is kept secure, only used for the purposes set forth in this privacy notice (and not for any other purposes), and it can be accessed or corrected upon your request. We use organizational, technical and administrative security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your personal data. Whilst we cannot guarantee any of these events will ever occur, we use all reasonable efforts to prevent them.
Where - To provide you with the services described above, your data may be processed or stored both in and outside your country of residence and both in and outside the South African and European Economic Area (EEA). Given the global nature of Le Creuset programs, some of the affiliated companies and partners of Le Creuset that act as processors may access your personal information and may be established in countries outside your country of residence or in countries outside of South Africa. In any case, your data may be transferred only to non-EEA countries offering adequate protection according to European law (as is the case of Switzerland where Le Creuset Group AG is based) or, if this is not the case, under specific contractual arrangements to ensure adherence to European and South African personal data protection rules and standards. In any case, where your personal information is sent to countries other than your country of residence, your data will be protected by adequate safety systems, which are constantly updated and maintained in accordance with POPIA/ GRPR / Data Protection Laws.
5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will retain your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes for which it was collected, after which it will be destroyed or rendered unusable. For example, we may have to keep data about your purchase to comply with our legal obligations or resolve disputes. Your Le Creuset account will be kept live until you request us to cancel it. We will keep your information for the purpose of providing you with marketing communications and personalised content for as long as you consent. Your personal data collected for marketing is checked periodically to verify whether you are still interested in receiving our marketing communications. After a certain time without interactions, we might send you communication to confirm that you wish to stay in touch with us. Otherwise, we will unsubscribe you and stop sending you marketing communications.
6. WHO MIGHT WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH?
Le Creuset staff – Your personal data will be processed only by our authorized staff or by the authorized staff of other companies within Le Creuset group supporting us in providing you with the services described above. If you consent to the processing of your personal data for the purposes above, your personal data inserted in Le Creuset group database will be accessible to Le Creuset sales staff as it supports Le Creuset group with its business activity.
Other companies working for us and our providers – Depending on the service, we may share your personal data with specialised companies which we entrust, on our behalf, as data processors, with duties of technical and organisational nature that are necessary to manage our relationships with customers and provide you with the services described above. These include companies that provide storage services for documentation regarding customer relationships, providers of technical services, the payment gateway, our marketing communications platform, and companies that evaluate service quality and customer satisfaction or carry out, on our behalf, marketing. These third parties will only access your information to perform tasks and duties in compliance with this Privacy Notice and Data Protection Laws. Additionally, we may share your personal information with companies that support us in the provision of our services with other administrative or operational tasks, as autonomous controllers, such as our warehousing and distribution partners. These third parties will only use your personal data to the extent necessary to perform their specific functions for us. Legal obligations - We might have to disclose your information to third parties if this is necessary to (i) comply with laws and regulations; (ii) prevent fraud or misuse of our services; or (iii) protect Le Creuset’s business and property rights. These third parties may include legal services, audit services and local regulators and authorities.
7. IS PROVIDING YOUR INFORMATION NECESSARY OR OPTIONAL AND WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF REFUSAL?
It is necessary for you to provide us with some personal data in order to enable us to comply with our contractual obligations to you. Without your personal data, you may be unable to purchase products from us or register a Le Creuset account on the Website. It may be necessary for us to retain some of this data for the purpose of fulfilling our legal obligations. Providing personal data for marketing purposes, personalized contents and marketing communications is optional. Not providing your data for these purposes will not have any negative consequences for you, however this means that we cannot provide you with Le Creuset personalised marketing communications and promotional offers. If you wish to exercise your access, correction, cancellation, portability and objection rights under the Data Protection Laws, as detailed below, or make complaints and other inquiries, please email privacy@lecreuset.com. Under the Data Protection Laws, you have the right:
- of access to your personal data: you can request to be informed of what we are doing with your data (particularly to receive details of the source and the categories of data, the purposes and methods of the processing, and where possible the envisaged period for which data will be stored or the criteria used to determine it, the recipients or categories of recipients to which the data may be disclosed and which may become aware of the data, the appropriate safeguards under which we transfer your data to non-EU countries) and request a record of your personal data we have in our possession;
- to rectification: you can request us to correct or update your data in our database;
- to erasure: you can request us to delete your data from our database (right to be forgotten) unless we still need it for some valid reasons. With specific reference to marketing purposes, (a) we will no longer collect your data once you withdraw your consent; and (b) of course, should you wish to delete personal data previously collected, you can ask for their erasure in accordance with this Section;
- to restriction of the processing: you can request us to suspend your data from being processed in our database;

Lecreuset.co.za has put in place various procedural, technical and administrative measures to safeguard and secure the Personal Information you provide.
Payment card information is not retained by or available in the lecreuset.co.za data center. To the extent our customers’ Personal Information is maintained by us, it is located on a secured server behind a firewall; it is not directly connected to the Internet. The firewall meets recognized industry standards.
CHOICES FOR MAINTAINING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You can stop receiving our marketing communications at any time, free of charge, through the methods displayed as part of the communication (e.g. to be unsubscribed from the marketing communications you can click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email). In any event, if you would like to stop any of our marketing activities, please email us at privacy@lecreuset.com. We will process your opt-out as soon as possible, but in some circumstances, you may receive a few more communications until the opt-out is processed completely.
Remember you are in control of your data and you can manage your preferences at any time. FRAUD PROTECTION
Unfortunately, some unscrupulous people may purport to represent Le Creuset. We will request your credit card information only when you are in the checkout page of the website, or if you call our Consumer Services team to purchase a product.
When we become aware that someone or some company is using lecreuset.co.za without our authorisation, we will take reasonable steps designed to stop that activity. This may take time, and it may be difficult or even impossible to stop that activity. Thus, you should take precautions to protect yourself.
You should keep your password and other Personal Information in a safe location and not share them with anyone.
